One of those accidental nights where we were waiting on Alex to start a session. The studio was silent as time ticked away, I walked over to the FruityLoops session (something that alex cooked up nights before in his alone time) that was already opened said "well we should work on something" and this beat just played. It was Billy Truth and myself and I remember Truth saying Ai wasn't going to use that beat and Billysaying "yo ant, we should rock to this". I was in a funk that day but this song had a pretty groove to it, it felt like something I was always chasing so I said fuck it. The hook came simple and quickly, Billy ended up altering the back end of it and it was a go from there. We wrote and recorded it in that session and it felt like magic, i actually wasn't thinking of the album until we were done and I asked them all if I could have it, I needed it... and I was lucky they let me. This was the piece that fell into place and let me really anchor the sound of the album. Sometimes you gotta work thru the funk, gotta try something different, gotta say fuck it for the magic to happen
