I wasn't sure how to start this album until I revisited this song I had wrote some years ago. I was apprehensive at first when adding it to Harvey but after speaking to Jasmine during a live feed I decided it was going to stay. Immigrant is a love song of sorts, it's about a first night of sex that leads into something deeper and long lasting. What I love about it is it's uptempo two step nature along side with a hook that speaks to the romantic in me. I also felt that being placed on the album gave it a duel meaning that wasn't there before, it really embodied my friend. Harvey was the kinda guy that was easy to meet for the first time and easy to have a connection with, he was amazing in that aspect. Like the hook states, he was an immigrant into your world but once he was there as a friend he was there to stay
